LISA
A New Jersey native, Lisa Ferrari started working in the local music scene straight out of high school. While in college, she worked for A. Stewart Hegeman, who introduced aluminum to the high fidelity music world by hand making aluminum coned loudspeakers in the late 1960's and early 1970's. From there she went to work for a local Westinghouse engineer, and together with several of her close friends, helped to build an Ampex 16 track recording studio in her hometown. She worked as a tape editor, assistant recording engineer, and behind the scenes in the administrative role of Vice President of the studio.

She then went on to work in the financial offices of a local rock ‘n roll club during the mid 70's, which served to “mirror” the great, legendary Bottom Line in New York City. She watched the likes of Pat Benatar, Squeeze, and numerous other up and coming talent play first in the New Jersey club, then at The Bottom Line in New York, and from there, to all the great halls and arenas around the world.
In the late 1970's she moved to the New York City music scene, continuing to work in the financial world with such music greats as The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Joe Jackson, Marshall Crenshaw, and Cameo. It was around this time that Lisa married her childhood sweetheart, who, after working as the sound engineer for The Bottom Line in New York became the sound engineer for Miles Davis. Lisa and her husband traveled the world with Miles, the Gil Evans Orchestra, and many other rock and jazz greats. She took a 20 year hiatus from the music world to raise their son, Jon.
She got her love for art from her Italian born father, who was a fine artist who helped design some of the finest restaurants and nightclubs in New York during the 1950's and 60's. Her love for music came not only from him, but from her mother, who first played classical piano, and then fell in love with jazz piano in her later years. She met Leo through their boys, who were school mates, and they married in 2002. Now she is back, doing what she loves best. TALKING, . . . . . . about all the things she loves.
